Intel announces 2 new GPUs

Intel announces 2 new GPUs: Intel recently added two new graphics cards to its Arc Pro-A series. Named ‘A60’ and ‘A60M’, the newly launched products are designed for professional workstation users and offer a significant performance upgrade compared to their predecessors.

The new cards come with 16 PCIe lanes, 384 Gbps memory bandwidth, 16 ray tracing units and 256 dedicated AI X Matrix Extensions, offering double the performance when compared to the existing Intel Arc A series product lineup. The company says the new GPUs are suited for computer-aided design and modelling (CAD/CAM), AI inferencing tasks and media processing.

Intel announces 2 new GPUs: Intel says the Arc Pro GPUs will receive quarterly driver updates and are optimised for media and entertainment apps like Blender. It also supports the Intel oneAPI Rendering Toolkit that ‘enables the creation of high-performance high fidelity visual experiences’.

The new cards make use of the third Alchemist GPU named ‘ACM-G12’ with the desktop and mobile versions having a clock speed of 2.4GHz and 1.3GHz. They have 12GB of video memory (VRAM) and support up to four displays with Dolby Vision and high dynamic range (HDR).

According to Intel’s blog post, the Arc Pro A60 for workstation desktops will be available from Intel-authorised distributors in the coming weeks, while the Arc Pro A60M will be available for mobile devices from original equipment manufacturers (OEM) partners in the coming months. While Intel is offering a three-year limited warranty on the desktop version of Arc Pro cards, the company is yet to reveal the price of the Arc A60 and Arc A60M.
