Realme 11 Pro Plus

Realme 11 Pro Plus is the first mid-range device with a 200MP camera. Although smartphones in the mid-range segment are growing more powerful with each iteration, innovation in design has stagnated, with most devices across brands looking the same. Perhaps, at this point in time, the biggest challenge for any smartphone maker is to offer a distinct design that goes beyond conventions.

Recently, Realme launched two new mid-range devices – Realme 11 Pro Plus and Realme 11 Pro. The newly launched devices seem to be an extension of the brand’s vision to offer some unique designs with each new phone. Both devices come with a curved display and pack the MediaTek Dimensity 7050 chipset, which also happens to power the recently launched Lava Agni 2 (review). Here we take a look at the devices to grasp its unique design.

Realme 11 Pro Plus design

Designed by Realme in collaboration with Matteo Menotto, the former print and textile designer of Gucci, the new phones come with a vegan leather finish. Unlike budget phones with leather backs, the Realme 11 Pro series has a textured back with a zip-like design in the middle with stitches that stretch from the bottom to the top. If you are wondering, Realme says that the vegan leather back is durable and stain resistant, meaning you won’t have to worry about it getting dirty.

As mentioned above, the phone is powered by the MediaTek Dimensity 7050 chipset and has a 6.7-inch 120Hz curved AMOLED screen with 2160 PWM dimming and a hardware-level blue light filter. Running on Realme UI 4.0 based on Android 13 out of the box, the Realme 11 Pro Plus offers up to 12GB RAM and 256GB internal storage.

Realme says the 11 Pro Plus uses Samsung’s ISOCELL HP3 sensor. The 200MP sensor comes with what the company calls ‘SuperOIS’, which resets the OIS between frames and is backed by a 4-axis anti-shake algorithm.

Apart from packing the highest megapixel count in the segment, the Realme 11 Pro Plus is able to click pictures from the primary camera in full resolution. The phone also offers 4x in-sensor zoom, which eliminates the need for a dedicated telephoto lens. If you click a picture in 1x, the photo will have a resolution of up to 200MP, while 2x and 4x zoom results in a 25MP and 12.5MP image. Realme claims the in-sensor zoom causes minimal loss in image details and does not introduce noise.

The Realme 11 Pro Plus happens to be the first phone in the price segment to offer a ‘Moon mode’, which was popularised by the Samsung Galaxy S23 Ultra. In this mode, the phone adjusts the exposure and uses the camera’s 4X lossless zoom in addition to AI to click sharp images of the moon.

Realme 11 Pro Plus also comes with an ‘Auto Zoom’ feature that can automatically zoom in on a subject on tapping, ‘Super NightScape’ mode that helps with low light photography and ‘Starry Sky’ mode which can capture bright sky using AI noise reduction and automatic exposure adjustment without tripods.
