Ducati Panigale V4R
Ducati has launched the Panigale V4 R in India. The supersport motorcycle is the halo product in the Panigale range and comes with a 998cc V4 engine producing 218bhp at 16,500rpm in sixth gear. This is priced at Rs 69.99 lakh (ex-showroom).
The Panigale V4 R uses a similar aluminium frame as the standard Panigale V4 with certain modifications. The suspension is a manually controlled setup – Ohlins – NPX25/30 at the front and TTX36 at the rear. Braking is handled by Brembo Stylema brakes. It gets a dry weight of 193.5kg. The aerodynamics of the motorcycle have been improved greatly over the older one, with new wings which come while being compact.
A majority of the bodywork including the wings are made up of carbon fibre. Ducati won the MotoGP and WSBK championships last year, and to denote their dominance, the motorcycle features a “1” on the face and the sides.
Powering the 2023 Ducati Panigale V4 R is the 998cc Desmosedici Stradale R motor. This four-cylinder engine is capable of revving up to 16,500rpm in the sixth gear (16,000rpm in lower gears) and punches out 218bhp. This power can be boosted to 237bhp with the optional Akrapovic racing full titanium exhaust system and adding the Shell oil which has been developed with Ducati Corse adds 3.5bhp, taking the total power output to 240.5bhp.
The Panigale V4 R comes with greater expansion of the power modes offered on the V4. This includes the Track Evo display, engine maps with calibration dedicated to each gear and improved Ducati Traction Control and Ride by Wire system. Within the power modes, the new Power Mode logic has been adopted with dedicated calibrations for the Stradale R motor, with for engine strategies – Full, Medium, High, and Low.
Priced at Rs 69.99 lakh (ex-showroom) the Panigale V4 R is brought in from Italy as a CBU, unlike other Ducati models in India. Add to this the Akrapovic exhaust system and the price goes up by Rs 10.24 lakh.
