Ather 450X Pro 2023

Bengaluru-based EV maker Ather Energy recently rejigged the variant line-up of its 450X electric scooter, effectively bringing its price down in the process. The Ather 450X is now much more accessible, with a base price of Rs 98,079 (ex-showroom, Delhi) after FAME II and state subsidy, for the sole variant on offer. The company is now offering an additional Pro Pack with the scooter with all the bells and whistles, which costs Rs 30,364 additionally.

Is the Pro Pack actually worth the stretch? Here is a list of the top five features that the Pro Pack brings along for the Ather 450X that make it worth considering, take a look –

Ride Assist Suite

The 2023 Ather 450X Pro Pack gets something called ‘Ride Assist Suite’, which adds useful safety features like park assist (reverse mode), Hill-assist Control, auto turn indicator cut-off as well as guide-me-home light – all of which will make life easier. Additionally, you can add a tire pressure monitor (TPMS) to the Pro Pack, which is an optional accessory and is not offered on the standard version.

Dashboard User Interface

The Pro Pack comes with a 4 G-enabled multi-color TFT digital display with AtherStack 5 UI, Bluetooth connectivity and connected tech, while the entry-level variant of the scooter now gets a standard grey-scale display without any of the connected features. Do note that both the units are still the same IP65-rated 7-inch touchscreen unit with Android OS.

Ather Connect Pro

The Pro Pack on the Ather 450X pro also brings along a host of Ather Connect features including on-board Google Maps with navigation, document storage, OTA updates, ride statistics on the Ather app, remote location tracking, remote charge monitoring, push location from Ather app and multi-stop trip planner.

Fast Charging

The standard Ather 450X does not get the Ather Grid i.e. fast charging access. The company claims that a 0 – 80% charge would take approximately 12 hours and 15 minutes on the electric scooter. If you opt for the Pro Pack, you do get access to Ather Grid as well as fast charging at home, which will take just 4 hours and 30 minutes to take the battery from 0 – 80%.

Ride modes

The Ather 450X Pro now gets just a single standard ride mode, while the Pro Pack adds in five different modes – Eco, Ride, Sport, Warp and Smart Eco. It should be noted that the certified range, with or without the Pro Pack, is still the same 146 km (ARAI IDC). Moreover, the electric motor specs and performance are also the same on both versions.

In addition to all of the features mentioned above, Ather is offering a 5 year/60,000 km warranty for the battery if you upgrade to the Pro Pack, whereas the battery warranty without the optional upgrade is 3 years/30,000 km. The electric scooter as well as the charger both have a 3 year/30,000 km warranty as standard.
