Slated for release in China on December 7, the Realme GT 5 Pro will expand the Realme GT 5 series, which was introduced earlier in August with dual charging variants. The Realme GT 5 Pro is likely to feature enhanced specifications, boasting a top-tier Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 chipset, an upgrade from the base model’s Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 processor. As the launch draws near, the handset maker has now disclosed additional specifications and affirmed the available colour choices of the upcoming handset.

The handset officially announced on Chinese micro-blogging site Weibo that the Realme GT 5 Pro will be available in two colour variants: Red Rock and Starry Night (both translated from Chinese). The handset maker also added that the phone will come pre-installed with Realme UI 5.0 based on Android 14 and assured users of three Android upgrades along with four years of security updates for the Realme GT 5 Pro. This means that users can expect upgrades to Android 15, 16 and 17.

According to some rumours, the periscope telephoto lens in the Realme GT5 Pro may come with superior light sensitivity compared to telephoto cameras found in other smartphones. It achieves main-camera-level image quality across frequently used focal lengths, such as 3x optical zoom and 6x lossless zoom. Moreover, it maintains exceptional clarity even at extreme zoom levels of up to 120x. The company said that the IMX890 can capture portrait shots at SLR-level quality, says a report by Gizmo China.

The handset maker has officially stated that the top-tier variant of the Realme GT 5 Pro will feature a significant 1TB storage capacity. The Realme GT 5 Pro will also include a noteworthy AI improvement, featuring an AI super assistant with intelligent speech generation support.

According to a report by 91Mobiles, the upcoming Realme GT 5 Pro is set to feature a 6.78-inch AMOLED display boasting 1.5K resolution, and peak brightness of 4500 nits. In terms of the camera setup, the upcoming GT 5 Pro is expected to sport a triple rear camera arrangement, comprising a 50MP main camera with OIS support, a 50MP periscope telephoto lens, and an 8MP ultrawide lens. For selfies and video calls, a 32MP camera is likely to be featured on the front of the device.

Powering the GT 5 Pro will be a 5,400mAh battery supporting 100W wired and 50W wireless charging. It is set to receive three Android OS upgrades and four years of security updates. The device will be preloaded with Realme UI 5.0-based Android 14 and will include an in-screen fingerprint scanner for security.
