iQOO 12 coming to India

iQOO 12 is all set to launch its upcoming flagship phone – iQOO 12 in India on December 12. The upcoming phone will be the first phone in the country to be powered by Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 chipset.
The information comes from iQOO India’s CEO Nipun Marya, who recently unveiled the launch date in a post on X (formerly Twitter). The iQOO 12 poster also has a BMW logo on the top right corner, meaning iQOO will most likely stick with its BMW M Motorsport collaboration.
According to GSMArena, the upcoming smartphone will feature a dedicated display processor that supports hardware-based ray tracing, enabling game developers to implement realistic lighting, shadows, and reflections. It looks like iQOO 12 will be able to run popular titles PUBG, Genshin Impact, LoL Mobile and more at 144fps using frame rate interpolation.
Earlier this year, renowned tipster Digital Chat Station shared a post on Weibo that the company is going with a QHD E7 OLED screen with a refresh rate of 144Hz. The post also suggests that the phone will come with a metal frame, ultrasonic in-display fingerprint sensor and 200W fast charging. However, some reports say iQOO might limit the charging speed to 120W and instead opt for a 6000mAh battery.
On the camera front, iQOO 12 might have a triple camera setup on the back that consists of a 50MP Omnivision camera with OIS, a 50MP Samsung ISOCELL JN1 ultrawide sensor, and a 64MP telephoto lens. However, the company might skip out on a periscope lens. It is expected to run on FunTouch OS 14 based on Android 14 out of the box.
iQOO 12 will be launched on November 7 in China alongside the iQOO 12 Pro, so we will have to wait a few more days to see what the company’s upcoming flagship has to offer. However, it is unlikely that we will see the Pro variant in India.
