Kawasaki Eliminator 450

India Kawasaki Motor has tantalized motorcycle enthusiasts with a sneak peek of their upcoming two-wheeled sensation.

The grand revelation is slated for the highly anticipated 2023 India Bike Week (IBW). While the company remains tight-lipped about the specifics, an intriguing teaser showcasing a partially exposed wheel, has everyone buzzing about the possibility of the iconic Eliminator making a comeback in a fresh, modern avatar.

The iconic Kawasaki Eliminator 450, which debuted globally earlier this year, holds a special place in the hearts of Indian riders. The nameplate, known for its robust fan base, is all set for a comeback in a sleek and contemporary avatar, promising a thrilling ride for enthusiasts.

For India Kawasaki Motor, the return of the Eliminator 450 represents a full-circle moment, harking back to the days when this bike was proudly sold in India under the Bajaj-Kawasaki partnership. The Eliminator has a rich history dating back to 1985, with various engine configurations, including the 900 cc inline four-cylinder and a limited-edition 1,000 cc version.

The bike continued to evolve with iterations featuring 750, 600, 400, 250, 175, and 125 cc engines until the late 2000s. Notably, the Kawasaki Eliminator 175 eventually became the Bajaj Avenger 180 with the DTS-i engine.

The 2023 Kawasaki Eliminator 450 is more than just a bike; it’s a rebirth of a classic. Positioned below the Vulcan S in the brand’s lineup, this cruiser boasts an all-black look with a round LED headlamp, a distinctive fuel tank, low-set split seats, and an exposed frame.

The forward-set footpegs and wide handlebar offer a relaxed riding position, adding to the cruiser’s appeal. The attention to detail is evident in the blacked-out finishes on the engine casing, chassis, and alloy wheels, while the headlamp cowl provides a stylish contrast with its body-colored finish.

The Eliminator 450, also known as the ‘Eliminator 500’ in the UK, is generating a lot of anticipation in the Indian market. With an expected price of around Rs 5.5 lakh (ex-showroom), it fills a sweet spot between the Ninja 400 and Z650 in the brand’s lineup. This parallel-twin powerhouse is set to compete with the Keeway V302C V-Twin in the same space, promising riders not just a bike, but an experience.
