There are chances the new phones might debut around the start of the second half. Now, tipster Smart Pikachu has shared some key camera specifications of the Reno 12 series.

• According to tipster Smart Pikachu, the OPPO Reno 12 series will feature a custom Sony Camera lens.
• This is claimed to offer significant improvements in photography capabilities.

• However, the exact camera details are under wraps at the moment.
• An earlier leak suggested the Reno 12 series could come with an improved periscope camera and will offer higher optical zoom capabilities.

The Reno 12 is rumoured to be powered by the yet-to-be-announced MediaTek MTK 24M chip and the Reno 12 Pro could ship with the MediaTek Dimensity 9200 SoC. On the other hand, tipster DigitalChatStation claimed the Reno 12 series could bring Qualcomm Snapdragon 8-series chips. There are chances that OPPO might be planning different variants for different markets. The chipset could be paired with 8GB RAM and 256GB storage. There could be higher RAM/storage options at launch. The Reno 12 and Reno 12 Pro could feature a 50MP main camera with OIS, a 50MP with 2x optical zoom and an 8MP third camera, probably to click ultra-wide-angle shots. There might be a 50MP shooter on the front for selfies and video chats. The battery on the phones could be 5,000mAh with at least 67W fast charging support.

However, these details veer from a previous tip that suggested Snapdragon chips and an improved periscope zoom capability. Here’s what we mean.

• Processor:As per an internal document leak discovered by com, the Reno 12 could be powered by a yet-to-be-revealed MediaTek MTK 24M chip and the Reno 12 Pro could be wielding a MediaTek Dimensity 9200 SoC.Meanwhile, DigitalChatStation had tipped recently that the Reno 12 series could bring Qualcomm Snapdragon 8-series chips. OPPO could be planning different variants for different markets.
• Cameras: Both phones could be sporting a 50MP main camera with OIS, a 50MP with 2x optical zoom and an 8MP third camera, supposedly an ultrawide clicker.The leak doesn’t disclose anything about an improved periscope zoom lens though as the DCS tip had suggested.

  Also, both phones could have a 50MP front camera with autofocus support.

OPPO Reno 12 series launch timeframe, price (expected)

The same source suggests the Reno 12 series could launch in June 2024 with a price tag of about $499 (~ Rs 41,377.08) for the standard Reno 12 and $799 (~ Rs 66,253.08) for the Pro model.

• Display and design: The oppo  Reno 12 series could flaunt a 6.7-inch OLED panel with a 120Hz refresh rate. As for design, they could have a curved glass back and IP65 dust and water resistance rating.
• Memory: The regular oppo Reno 12 series is likely to come in just a 12GB RAM+ 256GB storage variant while the Pro model could ship in a 512GB model too.
• Battery: Under the hood, both could be carrying a 5,000mAh battery with 67W fast charging capability.
