Pixel 7a vs OnePlus 11R

Pixel 7a vs OnePlus 11R: The Pixel 7a has been announced in India and people can buy it for around Rs 40,000 via Flipkart if they have a HDFC bank card. In this range, a few other 5G phones are also available. One of the direct competitors of the Pixel 7a is the OnePlus 11R, which is on sale in a similar price range. As there is a lot of confusion about which 5G phone would be a better choice, India Today Tech compared the two premium mid-range phones in detail to offer clarity to users. Here is a detailed comparison of the Pixel 7a and OnePlus 11R.

Pixel 7a vs OnePlus 11R: Price in India

Both the 5G phones are more or less available at the same price. The Pixel 7a has been launched in India with a price tag of Rs 43,999. But, there is a Rs 4,000 bank discount offer available on Flipkart, so consumers will be able to buy the new Google phone at an effective price of Rs 39,999. Its rival, OnePlus 11R, is selling in the country for Rs 39,476.

Pixel 7a vs OnePlus 11R: Design

Which phone offers a better design is purely a consumer’s choice. But, we believe the Pixel 7a features a very premium design compared to OnePlus phone. At first glance, one might think that the Pixel phone has a glass back, but it has a good plastic build with a glossy back panel. Google is selling it in unique and soothing colours.

The OnePlus 11R also has a glass back with a circular camera module at the back. It might look like the handset has a textured surface at the back, but this is not the case in reality. You get a matte finish at the back with a bit of a shiny effect. It has rounded corners, unlike the Pixel 7a which has sort of square edges to make it look like it offers more screen space. The OnePlus phone also offers an attractive design and it looks classic in black colour. It even has an alert slider to easily adjust the volume status of the phone.

Both the phones lack a headphone jack and are a bit slippery. Hence, it is better to use a case with these devices. The added advantage of buying the Pixel 7a over the OnePlus phone is that it comes with an IP67 rating, so one won’t have to worry during the rainy season. The Pixel phone has a sturdier build quality, in our opinion. Also, the glass back on OnePlus is more prone to damage.

Pixel 7a vs OnePlus 11R: Display

The Pixel 7a has a compact form factor, which makes it easier to use the phone with one hand. In our opinion, it has the perfect display size. The bezels are pretty trimmed down and you get a lot of screen space to binge-watch. It sports a 6.1-inch full-HD+ OLED display with a 90Hz refresh rate and HDR support. The front screen also has Corning’s Gorilla Glass 3 coating for protection against scratches. The colour reproduction is also pretty good. We enjoyed consuming content on this device.

As for OnePlus 11R, this one too has slim bezels, but a much bigger screen. It features a 6.7-inch OLED display with a punch-hole design. The device has curved edges and sides, similar to the OnePlus 9RT. The screen offers support for 2160Hz PWM Dimming and 1450nits of peak brightness. The panel refreshes at 120Hz, so it offers a smoother scrolling experience than Pixel. The OnePlus phone has a brighter display than Pixel, but you will get a great experience on both the devices.

Pixel 7a vs OnePlus 11R: Chipset and other features

Both the 5G phones have a flagship chipset. The Pixel 7a features Google’s Tensor G2 SoC, whereas the OnePlus 11R packs a Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 chip. We got smooth and fast enough performance on both the 5G phones. The only thing is the Pixel 7a gets a little warmer while gaming or clicking photos for hours.

Both the phones have stereo speakers and run on Android 13 OS. They also feature in-display fingerprint sensor biometric authentication. People who want a clean stock Android experience should go for the Pixel 7a. The OnePlus phones also have a clean UI and people won’t likely

Pixel 7a vs OnePlus 11R: Camera

Of course, there is no comparison in this department. You will get better camera performance with the Pixel 7a. It will offer shots with natural colours, better details, dynamic range, colour balance and textures than the OnePlus 11R.

As far as camera specs go, the Pixel 7a sports a 64-megapixel primary camera with OIS support. It is backed by a 13-megapixel ultrawide sensor. One will find a 13-megapixel camera on the front. The OnePlus phone has three cameras at the back of the phone. The setup includes a 50-megapixel Sony IMX890 main camera, which is backed by an 8-megapixel ultra-wide camera and a 2-megapixel macro sensor. On the front is a 16-megapixel camera for selfies.

Pixel 7a vs OnePlus 11R: Battery, fast charging

The OnePlus 11R is a sure-shot winner in this segment because the company offers a fast charger in the retail box and has equipped the phone with a big 5,000mAh battery. It bundles a 100W charger along with the phone.

Google doesn’t offer a charger and provides only 18W fast charging support. The Pixel 7a has a smaller 4,385mAh battery under the hood. Though, the battery optimization of the Pixel phone is better than OnePlus, which means that the 7a won’t die fast and will easily last for about up to 11 hours with light usage, as per our usage.

The advantage of the Pixel is that it has support for wireless charging and people who prefer it will likely find 7a a better option because of the convenience you get. But, the phone charges at slower speeds, and a fast wired charger can top up the battery between 1 and a half hours to 2 hours.
