Twitter brings picture in picture on iOS

Twitter owner Elon Musk recently introduced ‘a reading limit’ policy aimed at limiting the number of tweets a user can read every day. While users are arguing about the newly imposed daily limit, Twitter developers seem to be quietly rolling out support for picture-in-picture mode for iOS.

According to a video shared by iSoftware Updates on Twitter, playing a video in the app and going to the home screen by swiping up keeps the video playing, similar to how the functionality works with apps like YouTube and WhatsApp.

This makes it possible for Twitter users to use other apps while watching a video. It looks like Twitter is gradually rolling out the feature, so it might take a while before it is available on your device.

Yesterday, Twitter users experienced a brief outage because of which many were unable to view tweets. The company also implemented a ‘temporary emergency measure’ and changed its policy, with users now requiring an account to view tweets.
