Vi extra data offer: Here’s how you can avail up to 5GB extra data on your Vodafone-Idea prepaid connection

Vi, or Vodafone-Idea, has rolled out a new offer that gives additional data over and above the existing allocation based on prepaid plan validities. As part of the new Vi extra data offer, users can avail the additional data if they recharge their prepaid connections through the Vi mobile app. Using these recharges will give users additional data allocation for a limited period, and the same is valid on plans above a price threshold.

Vi extra data offer: Here’s how you can avail

The Vi extra data offer can be availed if you purchase prepaid recharges through the Vi app only. You will then be required to select among one of Vi’s available ‘maha recharge’ plans, which can be availed by buyers at Rs 199 and above. According to the details shared by Vodafone-Idea, buyers purchasing prepaid recharges of between Rs 199 and Rs 299 will get 2GB of free data that will be valid for three days. Those buying prepaid recharges worth Rs 299 and above will be allocated 5GB of additional data that will be valid for three days, and can be used for any form of content streaming.

However, it is as yet unclear if the allocated data can only be used through Vi’s content streaming services available through its own app.

The plans come at a time when the operator remains the only one among the three telcos in the country without 5G services. Vi has announced that it plans to commence 5G services in the country soon, after recently receiving respite from debt amounting to over Rs 11,000 crore.
