AirPods Pro 2 Gets USB-C Upgrade
AirPods Pro 2
Apple, in its commitment to USB-C compatibility, has launched a standalone USB-C charging case for the AirPods Pro 2 in India. This move is particularly beneficial for users of the earlier AirPods Pro 2 model with a Lightning port, offering them an upgrade to USB-C without needing to purchase new AirPods.
What to know: Priced at ₹9,900, the MagSafe charging case (USB-C) for the AirPods Pro 2 is available on Apple’s Indian website. While this offers convenience, the high price might deter users, especially when the primary difference is just the USB Type-C port. For many, including those who recently acquired the original AirPods Pro 2, sticking to the existing charging case seems more practical.
Shipping for the new charging case is scheduled between January 6 and January 18, 2024, with an EMI option starting at ₹1,723 per month. However, the pickup option at Apple Saket is currently not available.
The AirPods Pro, known for its Active Noise Cancellation, Transparency mode, and personalized spatial audio, also features the new H2 chip. It includes touch controls, wireless charging, up to 30 hours of playback time, and the U1 chip for Ultra-Wideband (UWB) capabilities. Additionally, the AirPods Pro is IP54-rated, ensuring resistance to water and dust.
