Today, Redmi India revealed that the eagerly awaited Redmi 12 would go on sale in India on August 11. The future phone, which will be the Redmi 10’s successor and was introduced in 2021, would have a glass back and a triple camera configuration.
The phone would be offered in silver, according to a microsite for Redmi India, although the firm has not yet disclosed the specifications. A 6.79-inch IPS LCD screen with a 90Hz refresh rate and FHD+ resolution is featured on the Redmi 12 smartphone, which was introduced earlier this year in China.

According to the manufacturer, the phone boasts a “AdaptiveSync display” with a maximum brightness of 550 nits and a refresh rate switchable between 36Hz, 48Hz, 60Hz, and 90Hz in order to conserve battery.
The phone has up to 8GB of RAM and 256GB of storage and is powered by the MediaTek Helio G88 chipset, however it is still unknown if this model will be offered in India. A 50MP main camera, an 8MP ultra-wide lens, and a 2MP macro sensor make up the triple camera configuration on the phone’s back. On the front, an 8MP selfie camera with 1080p at 30 frames per second video recording capabilities is included.

The Redmi 12 may have a 5,000mAh battery with 18W charging and a side-mounted fingerprint scanner, similar to all recently released smartphones. It may also keep the 3.5mm headphone jack and provide IP53 water resistance, but as the Helio G88 is a 4G chipset, it will not support 5G connectivity.
The phone is anticipated to be less than Rs 15,000 and would most likely come pre-installed with MIUI 14, which is based on Android 13.
