The Galaxy S24 Ultra went on sale last month along with the Galaxy S24 and Galaxy S24+. It’s been only only a few days but users are already complaining about seeing a green line on the screen. This seems to be an isolated issue for now as only the Galaxy S24 users in the US are seeing the the green line.
Galaxy S24 Ultra users complain of green line on the screen
- Complains about the Galaxy S24 Ultra’s screen wereshared on Reddit and Samsung’s community forum. One user said that the a single green line suddenly appeared on his Galaxy S24 Ultra as he picked it up from the desk. But there were no prior issues like dropping it or the device overheating.
- Another user on Reddit saidthat the issue appeared six days after using the Galaxy S24 Ultra. On this unit, not just a green line but even a white line appeared horizontally along with the vertical green line.
- The same user shared the complaint on the Samsung Community Forum, and how the company refused to exchange the device. This Galaxy S24 Ultra owner was instead asked to return, and repurchase it.
- The problem here was that he would also all pre-order benefits if the device wasn’t exchanged. Samsung finally told the customer to contact T-Mobile since it was financed by the carrier.
Samsung hasn’t provided any statement on the green line issue yet. It’s also not clear if this is a hardware defect or a software issue. Like we mentioned above, this is an isolated issue so it might be affecting only a select group of devices. But it’s still a matter of concern, and one that Samsung should fix at the earliest. Samsung Galaxy S24 Ultra durability test
- TheSamsung Galaxy S24 Ultra durability test, as usual, starts with the scratch test.
- We see the phone getting scratched at level 6 on the Mohs hardness scale but here’s the interesting part. Phones usually have deeper grooves at level 7 but this time, we just have scratch marks. This means that Gorilla Armor is the toughest one out there.
- The Samsung Galaxy S24 Ultra produces deeper grooves at level 8, which could make it the first in the smartphone world.
- In comparison, the iPhone 15 Pro Max got scratchedat level 6, with deeper grooves at level 7. This is despite having a Ceramic Shield layer on the front.
- The Samsung Galaxy S24 Ultraultrasonic fingerprint sensor under the screen was able to recognise the finger and unlock the phone every single time.
- The Samsung Galaxy S24 Ultratitanium frame isn’t scratch-proof, so we see scratches throughout the chassis. Samsung says the volume rocker and power buttons are not using titanium material. They could be aluminium. During the burn test, the screen on the S24 Ultra lasts for about 30 seconds before turning white. The pixels don’t fully recover.
