Samsung BKC Lifestyle Experience store opens at Mumbai Jio World Plaza

India’s largest consumer electronics company, Samsung has inaugurated its first Online-to-offline (O2O) lifestyle store in India at Jio World Plaza Mall. This ultra-luxury precinct for retail, leisure, and dining in Mumbai will strengthen its commitment to India. The Samsung BKC is spread across 8,000 sq ft in Jio World Plaza and is located strategically in Mumbai’s Central business hub of Bandra Kurla Complex.


To recall, Apple opened its first store at the same Bandra Kurla Complex in Mumbai.

Samsung Online-to-offline (O2O) lifestyle store

  • The Samsung online-to-offline store will showcase Samsung’s top-of-the-line premium products through curated experiences and real-life scenarios.
  • This store will also have Samsung’s widest premium portfolio ranging from phones, televisions, refrigerators, washing machines and more.
  • The store will cater to premium consumers and technology enthusiasts. It will also offer Samsung’s latest AI experiences from ‘AI for All’ for consumer electronics products to ‘Galaxy AI’ for mobile devices.
  • The Samsung BKC store offers a selection of products with over 1,200 choices from the online digital catalogue. There will also be assistance from in-store staff.
  • The products purchased can be delivered not just in Mumbai but anywhere in the country.
  • Customers in Mumbai will have the option to buy online from Samsung.com/in and pick up from the store within two hours.
  • Customers can take online and offline appointments and request pickup for service of their device. The store will also offer same-day repair of Galaxy devices and remote assistance.

BKC is divided into eight unique lifestyle zones to showcase how connected multi-device ecosystem (SmartThings). These zones include Hobby Room, Home Office, Home Atelier, Home Cafe, Connected Kitchen, Intelligent Closet, Private Cinema, and Mobile Zone.

The  BKC store will offer personalisation and customisation options for mobile as well as consumer electronics products. Customers can also customise their smartphone covers on their own.


Customers purchasing two or more SmartThings-enabled products will be offered a free SmartThings set-up along with product installation through service engineers. Samsung will offer assured gifts including up to 2 percent loyalty points on the purchase of selec products and up to 20 percent off on select models of television and monitors, up to 5 percent additional cashback on refrigerators and washing machines anat Rs 2,999 on purchase of select Galaxy devices.

He said, “According to our analysis, there are various needs for mobile AI. So, there will be consumers who will be satisfied with using the AI capabilities for free. Then there could also be customers who wish for even more powerful AI capabilities, and even pay for them. So, in the future decision making, we will take all these factors into consideration.”

In his words, there is a hint towards the arrival of more capable features for paid customers. The exact details are however still known. Even Samsung doesn’t know of them, it seems.

In other news, also from the same source, we read TM Roh revealing that laptops would be made at the Noida factory in India and that the same would start to ship this year itself.


“The setup, preparation is currently underway, and we will be able to make supplies from this year,” says Mr Roh.

Samsung  launched  However, soon it was learned that  will remain free on these devices till 2025 only. It was also reported that AI features provided by third parties may come under different terms. Now, we have a sliver of clarification from the company that gives some context to what could happen after the 2025 deadline.
